LEXINGTON IS FOR LOVERS
February 20, 2019
It’s good for the soul to get “out” every once in a while, don’t you think?
In the past, I found myself falling into the homebody mindset. Adventure sounded exciting, but home was safe and familiar.
But now, I don’t want to make the mistake of not venturing out when I have the opportunity to just because fear of the unknown can be intimidating.
I’ve learned that as a photographer, travel is a key element to growth. New settings force you to think outside of the box, plus, they’re refreshing to work in.
Over the last two years, I’ve built up a sturdy list of local spots to shoot at, and I’ve gradually learned how to technically and stylistically make any location that could be thrown at me, work.
So, I thought…why not go somewhere new? Why not start the process of branching out?!
Lucky for me, three amazing couples were on board to start this very process by my side!!! I really can’t express how grateful I am that they made the rainy trek to Lexington this past Sunday so that we could work together. Not only that, but each one of these couples were so kind to me before, during, and after the shoot. Their respect for these photoshoots meant the world to me!
Each session ended up being held at The Square in Lexington. The original plan was to have each shoot at a separate location, but due to the fact that 1.) it was a Sunday, and a lot of places I had wanted us to go were closed and 2.) it’s wintertime, and there’s not much “life” in the surrounding nature, I decided we couldn’t go wrong with this location! This is a popular spot to shoot at in Lexington, and I figured, “Why not make it the first official one I shoot at up here?!”
Here are my favorites from each session! Despite the chilly temperatures and damp air, I think you all will be able to see that we all still had a fun time together!!! And check out how photogenic, genuine, and smitten each one of these couples are!!!
I hope you all have enjoyed scrolling through my favorites from these Lexington modeling shoots!
I can’t wait to go back to Lexington and start checking off other locations I’ve added to my “To See” list! May the next adventure be a little sunnier, a little warmer, and a little bloom-ier (okay, that’s not a word…basically, I’m just wishing it was Spring, already!)
Until next week,
