COMET'S BIRTHDAY PARTY • PETS
Comet’s a good boy…
…and he’s also the birthday boy!
I shot my first ever doggie birthday party this weekend!!! Besides lots of tail wagging, there was also lots of laughing.
This group of puppers’ energy matched how energetic the day itself felt, too. The party started right at noon, and the sunshine was abundant.
I knew the party would be special, but I didn’t realize just how much meaning was behind it until after the fact.
Dori, a close family friend, was the one who contacted me about this session. She shared this with me several hours after the party had wrapped up:
“I kinda wanted to tell you about why this party was so special today. Me, Kristin and Tara all had dogs around the same age and within a couple of years they all passed. Eight dogs total had passed away between us three. Today marks a new chapter for a whole new set of pups so we wanted to celebrate not only the new pups but the ones that had passed and have lead us to these new babies. You are so gifted and I was so happy to have you and Cam down here today! Thank you.
How precious is that? I think it’s such an admirable thing to do, and it’s heartwarming to witness how much they all love their dogs.
I can’t even being to imagine how hard that period of time must have been on all of them, and I don’t want to; however, I’m so happy that they’ve each found new furry family members to cherish and protect.
Here are some of the highlights from Comet’s Birthday Celebration!!!
Creelsboro is just…beautiful. Such a dream.
I couldn’t help but share those of Cam with Winnie and her ice-cream!
How hilarious is that?!
I absolutely adore these two images of Dori and Winnie directly above…
Note: watch the slideshow until the end…it’ll be worth it.
Hahahaha! Don’t worry, though—Comet shook it off seconds after the last image.
Before Cam and I headed home, we stopped at Dori’s house for lunch. I took my camera inside, so I was able to capture these gems of her super sweet kitty. (Seriously. This might be the nicest cat I’ve ever met.)
Dori, Tara, and Kristin: thank you all for inviting me to your celebration to document such a meaningful milestone in your lives. I love you all, and each one of your precious doggos.
P.s. I hope you all have enjoyed all three blog posts this week!!! I think I may be insane for posting that many…
See you all next time,
