BEST OF APRIL (AND SOME OF MAY, TOO)
If I had to use one simple word to sum up April, it would easily be: WOW!
April was quite the introduction into the busiest season of Kentucky Songbird Photography, ever.
Amidst the beginning of this rewarding season of photography with you all, behind the scenes, I was a bit of an emotional wreck.
I spent the month of April putting every ounce of energy that I could into Kentucky Songbird Photography, while simultaneously pouring myself into my college work in any spare moments I could find. It found it super ironic that my photography picked up in such an enormous way at the exact same time that I was preparing to graduate. As my friends were applying for jobs and even graduate school, I was counting down the days until I could officially make this business full time.
There were many trying moments. I grew more impatient each day doing homework, completing projects, writing research papers, and so on, knowing where I really wanted to be putting my time and efforts.
Cam, my parents, and our families encouraged me along the way though, and reminded me that I should do my best to soak in the last few weeks of life as a college student––that it would all be over before I knew it.
And they were right. Graduation day arrived before I really knew what was happening.
On May 11th, I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Media Studies (with an emphasis in Digital Art), Art (with an emphasis in Studio Art), and a Minor in Women’s and Gender Studies.
With college now behind me...the “real world” is finally here.
For the last week, I’ve been preparing for the next chapter of Kentucky Songbird Photography. I’ve been so elated with the response to the rebranding that occurred earlier this year, to the style changes I implemented during that time, to the new website, the newsletter, the blog, and now…
...even more changes are coming!!!
While the blog did suffer for one whole month (please forgive me on this), I’m back, and I’m here for good!
I’ll talk more about the exciting new changes for Kentucky Songbird Photography in a post coming soon...but for now, I want to recap on–and share some of my favorites images from–the month of April (and some of early May, too).
(These are all images that have not yet been shared on the blog. Some of my early April sessions aren’t included in this post–only because they’ve already been shared!)
It’s wonderful to be back...I hope you all enjoy getting back into the swing of things with me!!!
There are quite a few images in this post, so sit back, grab a snack, and enjoy.
I hope you all enjoyed this special, “reflective” blog post!!!
Be on the lookout for more posts this week as I get caught up on sharing everything that’s been going on since graduation!
See you next time, friend!
