BLAKESLEY + ALEX • DREAMY FARM ENGAGEMENT SHOOT
In just a few months, these two will be husband and wife!
On September 28th, Blakesley and Alex will be tying the knot on this very farm where we took their engagement photos. (It’s going to be so neat to place these side-by-side their wedding photos!)
I’ve known Blakesley for several years now; we got to know each other pretty well in our Spanish class in high school. In fact, we actually did one of our main projects for that class together, along with one of our other close friends! We made a video showing that we understood how to use one of our key vocabulary words at that period of time, and we chose “to paint” (a.k.a. “¡Pintar!”). I would include it in this blog post...but I think we’d both probably rather save ourselves from such embarrassment...haha!!! (It was honestly really cute, though! I think we did a decent job, and our class enjoyed it.)
And while this engagement session was the first time I met Alex, I can tell him and Blakesley are a precious match. He’s clearly a very nice guy and I’m thrilled to see Blakesley so happy!
Though it was rainy and overcast on the day of our shoot, the place was still absolutely gorgeous. Seeing the rain and fog in the distant hills as we shot was extremely relaxing and serene. (Some of you already know that I listen to ASMR rain loops as I’m editing—for whatever reason, it helps me zero in and focus on the task at hand, and I also feel more creative.)
As Blakesley and Alex (along with their sweet mommas) showed Cam and I around the farm, I couldn’t help but feel lost in a feeling of timeless dreaminess, almost like we were in a novel. It’s ironic; Blakesley actually told me early on in the booking process that one of her main decoration ideas incorporated old books! We’re fellow book lovers, and I think I’m equally as excited about that idea as she is!
Another high point from their engagement session was when they were able to give me a sneak peek of the aisle and where the ceremony will actually be held! If it all wasn’t already dreamy enough...this part just takes the cake!!!
At the beginning of the woods in the backyard, they have the start of the aisle’s pathway already marked with four barrels (two on each side) containing flowers and greenery. Once past this entry, a natural aisle begins, with lush trees surrounding on both sides, until the end of of the aisle is met with a circular opening. The light pours in this opening in such a way that it makes you think, “is this really a coincidence?!” How can it already be so beautiful?
Before I ramble too much (and spoil too many of the details of their location before the actual day of—haha), here are more of my personal favorites from Blakesley and Alex’s engagement session!
You’ll be seeing these two again on the blog this fall, and I’m so excited to celebrate them on their big day!
Blakesley and Alex: get excited…time is just going to keep passing quicker and quicker as the date approaches!!! I am so honored to be a part of this journey with you.
See you all in the next post!
